Steven Stahl
Singer/Songwriter
Singer/songwriter Steven Stahl has been playing folk and Americana music since the mid-1970's in Vermont and in Massachusetts. His songs range from fun pieces to deep reflection to historic fiction stories. Both Steve’s personal experiences and his ear for others’ different belief systems about how the world works appear in the topics of his original songs.
Steve is known for his skilled and effective use of harmonica in both major and minor keys to capture the tone and feelings of the lyrics. His live performance has been compared to Jonathan Edwards and Bob Dylan for the simultaneous blend of guitar and harmonica he achieves. But Steve’s harmonica style is his own original cross section of blues, jazz, and folk.
Steve plays or has played at open mics on the Outer Cape, including the Muse in Provincetown, and Preservation Hall in Wellfleet. He also has performed at the Pamet Harbor Club in Truro as well as a segment at Payoment Performing Arts, in North Truro. It has been quite some time since he performed regularly at bars, restaurants, and coffee houses in North Central Vermont. He has been a regular for several years at the Wellfleet Porchfest along with his friend and musician Brian Stern, who plays mandolin and vocals.
