Hello, I am Steven Stahl. My wife Shari and I became homeowners in Truro 14 years ago, and I care about our community. I have served as a volunteer for Payomet Performing Arts Center, Cape Abilities and Provincetown School. Now I want to join an important citizen body, Truro's Planning Board. As a former teacher, business owner and realtor, I believe I will be an effective member. I have built my own home so I understand the construction process, from design to move in.
We must find solutions to major issues confronting our community -- the need for more affordable housing, protecting water quality, and helping Truro adapt to the realities of climate change. All of these require immediate attention. While Covid posed special challenges, the Planning Board can do much more to collaborate with other boards and committees in Truro, and to encourage widespread community involvement. Our citizens are Truro's most powerful natural resource!
I plan to work toward streamlining the process for developing bylaws. I will bring my strategic planning experience to the table to collaboratively develop a more efficient process. This would free up more time for the Board to engage in the collaboration it needs for planning.
